Computer Classes Computer classes are available to all residents beginning with basic skills to advanced use of Windows 98, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc. Classes are held daytime and evening hours, to accommodate all residents’ schedules. Literacy Classes A personal tutor is available to assist with basic reading and communications skills. G.E.D. For those seeking to receive their GED diploma, classes are on going. Tutors pace students according to their skills. Pre-testing is available on an individual basis. Literacy and Life Skills HEP Family Learning Center is a fully equipped computer lab that utilizes volunteers to teach clients the skills they need to become self-sufficient and financially independent. Open to adults and youth within the HEP Community, the center offers core curriculum focused on computer basics, literacy and basic skills training. Life skill classes are available for all residents and are required according to individual case plan. Classes include job preparation, banking, budgeting, parenting, and other skills used in daily living. Job Skills/Coach HEP can provide a job coach as well as counseling for job preparation, interviews and résumé’s.
