Help Brighten the Holidays for Needy Families with Children
December 6, 2006

TAMPA BAY/CLEARWATER - A unique merger has formed between Westfield Countryside Shopping Center and the Homeless Emergency Project, Inc. (HEP), to brighten the holidays for hundreds of needy children in Pinellas County. Thanks to local businesses and the community, HEP’s Adopt A Family Christmas Program has, for over 15 years, assisted homeless and low-income working families in the community with gifts for the holidays.

“The number of needy families seeking assistance has almost doubled from previous years, and it is possible that over half of this year’s applicants will have nothing under the tree,” states HEP Administrator, Pat McAbee. “It is the vision of companies like Westfield that help us make the difference!” HEP and Westfield Countryside are working together to make sure these hard working families have the Christmas they deserve. This is an exceptionally rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the life of a needy child, by purchasing gifts for families who, without your generosity, would have no Christmas.

If you are an individual, family, local business or corporate conglomerate, you can help make a difference! Call the HEP office, visit them on the web at www.ethep.org or stop by the Adopt A Family Station at Westfield Countryside on the lower level near JCPenney to donate gifts.
