A Bike Recycling and Distribution Program

Freewheel is a not-for-profit bike repair shop and distribution program, operating under Homeless Emergency Project in Clearwater, serving homeless adults and children in Pinellas County.

Purpose: 

  • Provide the freedom of personal transportation to homeless adults and children
  • Recycle/Refurbish donated bikes and bike components
  • Educate consumers on bike repair and maintenance
  • Help consumers understand rules of the road

Each qualified recipient may receive one (1): 

  • Bike Registered with the National Bike Registry (NBR)
  • Commuter Helmet that Meets the CPSC Impact Standard
  • Steel U-Lock
  • Bike Care Kit
  • Light Set for Night Riding

We need bikes and bike parts!

Donations of new and used bikes and parts are being solicited for the program. We accept all makes, models, types and conditions of bicycles.
